A Week That Captured What Dingwall ASC Is All About
The Dingwall ASC Warm Weather Training Camp proved to be an unforgettable week that perfectly captured the spirit of the club: hard work, teamwork, and a genuine sense of enjoyment.
From the very first session to the final cheer, swimmers approached every challenge with focus, determination, and pride in representing the club. Across technical sessions, endurance work, and race preparation, the effort and attitude shown in every lane were outstanding. Swimmers pushed themselves through demanding sets while continuing to support and encourage one another throughout the week.
The training programme balanced high-quality pool work with land training and recovery. Strength and mobility sessions in the gym, yoga under the sun, and focused race-preparation work all contributed to a week that challenged swimmers both physically and mentally. Sessions were intense at times, but always positive, with laughter and energy never far from poolside.
Away from the structured training, the camp offered time to relax, explore, and build friendships. Highlights included an afternoon trip to Palma, volleyball in the sunshine, quiz nights, and the now-infamous Traitors game, which ran throughout the week and kept everyone entertained with suspense, strategy, and plenty of debate. These shared experiences played a huge role in strengthening bonds across the group.
One standout moment came during the Club Captains Set, led by the captains themselves and supported by coaches and former members. The session was creative, lively, and full of personality, showcasing leadership, humour, and the strong sense of identity within the club.
The final day brought everything together. A focused morning session on race execution was followed by gym work and a closing pool session packed with relays, challenges, and noise. Cheer squads formed on every lane, with swimmers clapping, shouting, and dancing on poolside. While Dingwall ASC may not have been the biggest squad at the venue, they were undoubtedly the most united, energetic, and enthusiastic.
Throughout the week, swimmers represented the club brilliantly, not only through their swimming but through their positivity, kindness, and care for one another. They supported teammates through tough sessions, celebrated small wins, and created memories that will last far beyond the camp itself.
This training camp was a reminder of why Dingwall ASC does what it does: to train hard, enjoy the journey, and do it together. The coaches are incredibly proud of every swimmer who took part, and grateful to families for their continued support in making opportunities like this possible.
